NY DOT Holds Meeting on Route 5/20 Repaving Proceedings

The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at Auburn Fire Station #1, located at 31 Seminary Street in Auburn, New York.

Officials will present an overview and design plans for repaving a 2.67-mile stretch of the Routes 5 and 20 arterial highway, from Route 326 on the west to the intersection of Standart/Grant Avenue on the east. The project is in the preliminary design stage, with construction scheduled to begin in June 2026 and continue through the construction season of 2027.

During construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary lane and shoulder closures, with restrictions during peak traffic times and some work conducted at night.
