Cornell Alumni Shine in 2026 Winter Olympics
Four Cornell University alumni will play for their respective national teams at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
Rory Guilday ’25 will represent the United States in women’s hockey. A College of Agriculture and Life Sciences graduate, Guilday is the first Big Red alumna to play for Team USA. She won a gold medal at the 2023 World Championships and has two silver medals. At Cornell, she was named to the All-Ivy First Team as both a junior and senior.
Brianne Jenner ’15 is set to represent Canada for the fourth time. A graduate from the College of Arts and Sciences, Jenner has already won two gold medals and one silver medal. At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, she was the tournament’s top goal-scorer with nine goals. Jenner ranks second in career points among Big Red hockey players.
Kristin O’Neill ’20, also from the College of Arts and Sciences, will make her Olympic debut playing for Canada after being a member of the taxi squad at the 2022 Beijing games. O’Neill is a three-time world championship winner and finished her Cornell career as the program’s all-time leader in game-winning goals with 21.
Laura Fortino ’13 will compete for Italy. A College of Agriculture and Life Sciences graduate, Fortino previously won a silver medal in 2014 and a gold medal in 2018 for Canada. She qualified to play for Italy through her family lineage. During her time at Cornell, Fortino scored 133 points in 133 career games.
The competition schedule on February 5 in Milan is as follows:
• Italy vs. France – 8:40 a.m. EST
• U.S. vs. Czechia – 10:40 a.m. EST
• Canada vs. Finland – 3:10 p.m. EST
The event highlights the presence of Cornell alumni on the international stage during the Winter Olympics.
